A colleague of mine tracked down an issue where all users' TSWA Profile > Options were not staying after they closed the browser. For example, a user would change their Theme to Olive, but after they closed their browser it would default back to the default.
We're not sure if this is the right fix, but we had to change permissions on the D:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team System Web Access\Web folder so that "Users" had Modify permissions. Users are now able to change their Options and they stick.

TSWA saves the user's profile to App_Data directory under TSWA installation directory. Earlier versions of TSWA used the logged-in user's credentials to write the files, but the recent versions use "Network Service".
If you're using TSWA 2008 SP1 (CTP) or a later version, our setup takes care of granting the required permissions for Network Service.

Thanks for the reply Hakan! I checked and the Network Service account always had "Special" access which allowed it to "Create Files / Write Data." So I'm guessing that TSWA 2008 still used the user's credentials. I guess that's what you're probably saying.
We'll give TSWA 2008 SP1 a try (so we're using Network Service) and remove the Users group.
